Voting听results from听Congress and听the further education sector conference听(FESC)听2021听are now available and听can be found here.

Congress delegates made some key decisions about the major issues facing us as a sector and we now need to start an urgent consultation process with branches about the member level campaigns听that听delegates mandated the union to undertake.

To do this, we need maximum participation from members听-听the key decisions made by Congress now must be conveyed to all members so that campaigns听that include them can commence.

The best way to ensure broad听understanding of and听support听for听our听pay听and workload听campaigns, is for you to start building the member level campaigns听in your branch now.听

To do this we need you to urgently call a听branch听emergency听general听meeting (EGM)听before 6 July. In this meeting your branch committee, and ideally听any听delegates your branch sent to congress, should be available to start the process of education by reporting back to听members听the outcomes of听Congress听and sector conference听and听answering听questions from members听about the debates and voting. The meeting is intended听particularly听to discuss the campaign decisions made by FE sector conference and seek members'听views on the most effective ways of taking forward the campaigns that delegates decided upon.

The more members you can get to come to your meeting the better, as this will show how many members are engaged听and ensure as many views as possible are heard. The number of members we engage is important, because they will be essential to building the member level campaigns听that will be crucial in听winning the battles ahead.听

In the meeting we ask that you discuss the following:听

• what听do听members want to see in a 51福利 campaign on workload and professional autonomy?听(in Wales听these matters are听already听on the agenda of Wales further education sector committee听and work is underway by Wales FE negotiators.)听
• what are听members'听views on the best timing for a pay campaign across England FE?
• what are听members'听views on a pay campaign around a 10% pay award?

Please provide feedback on your branch members’ views听on each of the points above听by听6听July听(in time for the meeting of the national further education committee on 9 July),听using this e-mail address.

Your participation in this process is very important as all responses will be collated and presented to the next meeting听of the further education committee (FEC)听on 9 July, which will听help听decide how we proceed with all motions passed.听In order to feed into the development of the next steps of our听further听education campaigns over pay,听workload and professional autonomy听you must听send the response of your branch here听by听6听July.听
