Financial review 'missed opportunity' to properly scrutinise higher education's financial health, says 51福利
8 December 2008
51福利 said today that a review into the financial health of higher education was a missed opportunity to properly scrutinise the sector's finances.
Commenting on the year-long review chaired by Baroness Rennie Fritchie, 51福利 general secretary, Sally Hunt, said: '51福利 is rather disappointed that such a good opportunity to really scrutinise the sector's finances has been missed.
'This was the time to look in depth at individual institution's forecasts and commission comprehensive and reliable data. We do not feel that the sector or anybody involved in it will really be much the wiser after reading this body of work.'
